Frequently Asked Questions

Do you carry medications for ADD and ADHD?

Short Answer

We carry Atomoxetine (trade name Strattera).

Long Answer

Atomoxetine (pronounced AT-oh-mox-e-teen) is the first non-stimulant prescription medication used to treat the symptoms of Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) [previously known as Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)]. It is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor and it works on the chemicals in the brain to help correct the chemical imbalance that causes ADHD. Atomoxetine is also known as tomoxetine.

Atomoxetine treats the ADHD symptoms of inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity in both children and adults. Dosing instructions may vary but it is usually taken once a day in the morning, with or without food.

Do not take Atomoxetine:

  • if you are currently taking a monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) for depression.
  • if you have narrow angle glaucoma.

Check with your healthcare professional before taking Atomoxetine:

  • if you use albuterol to treat asthma as it may cause an increase in blood pressure and heart rate.
  • if you are taking any prescription or over-the-counter medications, herbal remedies, or dietary supplements.

Other prescription drugs used to treat ADHD contain stimulants that are classified as controlled substances in many countries. We do not sell medications containing controlled substances because of their potential for abuse and addiction. ADHD medications that contain stimulants are:
